How will my library visit be different than what I’m used to?

Library visits will be like a trip to the grocery store: with a clear purpose and for a short time.

  • Quiet study rooms, meeting rooms and the Children’s Room will not be available during your Grab
    and Go visit. However, Children’s Room staff will be available to retrieve materials and provide
    information for you.
  • There is no seating in the library.
  • New Library Hours (beginning Monday, August 31): Monday to Thursday 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and Saturday 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

What can I expect when I arrive?

  • The amount of people admitted to the library at one time will be limited to ensure social distancing.
  • Social distancing markers will be placed throughout the building.
  • All patrons are required to wear a mask in the library at all times.
  • Public restrooms will be single use, with a key available at the Circulation Desk.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed around the library.
  • Please be aware that the Library Café has closed.

Will there be computer access?

  • A limited amount of adult computers will be available by appointment only.
  • Please call the library for an appointment.
  • Teen and children’s computers are not available at this time.

  • Photocopiers are available for patron use in the lobby.
  • A self-service fax machine is available for patron use in the computer area.

What safety measures has the library undertaken?

  • Protective barriers have been installed at all service desks.
  • Social distancing markers have been placed where lines form.
  • All returned library materials are being quarantined for 96 hours in our community room before being checked back in.
  • Library seating has been removed and some areas of the library remain closed.
  • All public areas are continuously cleaned by library staff.

What can I do to keep myself and those around me safe during my library visit?

Please do not visit the library if you have symptoms of, have tested positive for or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

  • Wear a mask at all times while in the library
  • Follow social distancing protocols
  • Limit your time in the library
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before, during, and/or after your visit.

Contactless curbside service is still available.

What about curbside service and library by mail?

Contactless curbside service for the pick-up and drop-off of library materials will continue. Please call the library and a staff member will pull your requested items for you and set-up an appointment time for you to come pick them up. All patrons picking up and dropping off items at the library are required to wear a mask. If you do not want to come to the library, we are happy to mail library materials, photocopies, crossword puzzles and other items to library patrons at no charge whenever possible. Where should I return library materials?

Library materials can be returned in the plastic bins located outside the entrances and in the lobby.

  • Please do not return items at the Circulation Desk (unless it is a Chromebook or Wi-Fi hotspot).
  • The book drops remain closed.

All library programs will continue to be held online via Zoom, Facebook Live, YouTube or Discord for the foreseeable future.

What if I cannot wear a mask because of a medical condition?

Everyone in the Library is required to wear a mask at all times. There are no exceptions. The Library offers reasonable accommodations to patrons who cannot come to the Library because they cannot wear a mask.

  • Library Materials Access: Those who cannot wear a mask will be assisted by staff using telephone and online help, curbside service, and library by mail.
  • Computer/Internet Access: Patrons who cannot come into the library can get computer and internet service by checking out Chromebooks and hotspots.
