Our Copiague History Project

The Copiague Memorial Public Library is conducting an ongoing oral history project to preserve the memories and experiences of those who live or have lived in the Copiague School district, which includes Copiague and parts of Amityville and Lindenhurst. The project will consist of 3-5 minute vocal clips, accompanied by 1-5 related photographs from residents past and present, discussing a memory or story they experienced while living or working in the Copiague community. These stories and memories will be archived and available on the Library website. Our goal is to give Copiague and its residents a voice and to shine a light on our long and rich history.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in this project, please feel free to contact Melinda Gordon at [email protected] or 631-691-1111 ext. 135 for more information and to set up an appointment to record or submit your information below.
